What makes Mt. Apo Civet Coffee taste heavenly?

Pito-Pito Herbal Tea

7:26 AM |

RITA RITZ, the pioneer in Philippine Herbal Tea making, has already carved a niche in the natural food industry. It is always associated with the famous PITO PITO a concoction of seven therapeutic herbal teas that was patented, FDA approved and copyrighted. The company becomes a by-word when associated with natural food condiments and herbal teas grown from organic farms. lts herbal products are carefully selected from fresh plants and scientifically processed for maximum effectivity.

RITA RITZ started in the early 80's when natural foods and herbal teas were not yet in vogue. Founded by MRS. ERLINDA CASTRO-SANQUI, a gifted retired teacher whose maternal influence had greatly shaped her life in making herbal and natural food preparations, this "all natural" penchant gave birth to their first product which became the pride of the company - the FRUITCAKE FILlPlNA. This indigenous recipe makes use of only Philippine ingredients and fruits. Hence, it garnered a National Award given by the PIDI/NSTA for creative and inventive research. After this, the company and the inventor-owner garnered several more awards.

ln 1990, the company started exporting their products overseas. Then in 1997, inventors Erlinda and Rita Carmela were sent by the TAPI (Technology Application and Promotion Institute) of the Department of Science and Technology to the 25th International Invention Contest in Geneva. Switzerland. There the nationally acclaimed product Rita Ritz Lolo Jose Banaba Tea and Rita Ritz Pito Pito Tea, won silver medal and bronze medal respectively.

In November of 2005, Ritz Ritz won First Prize at the National Invention Contest under Creative Research for the product Rita Ritz Mangosteen Pericarp Tea. Their new products, namely Guyabano Fruit Tea, Siniguelas Fruit Tea, Santol Fruit Tea and Mango Fruit Tea, were also chosen as finalists.

Vuqo: The Coconut Vodka

8:26 PM |

VuQo Premium Vodka (40% alc./vol, 80 proof) is the world's only premium vodka distilled from coconut nectar. Available in California, Nevada, Georgia, Texas, Maryland, and New York. Click on "Notes" for complete listings.

The history of VuQo Premium Vodka dates back at least four centuries. VuQo Premium Vodka is based on an ancient technology practiced in the Philippines long before the Spanish conquistadores set foot on its shores.

It is the same technology that Filipino seafarers brought to Mexico through the Spanish Galleon trades to create the now popular tequila. Coconut vodka was the drink in those ancient times, on those far eastern shores. It was, in a manner of speaking, a tribal drink, one that sealed brotherhoods and with which the day's bounty was enjoyed and shared. It is this spirit that VuQo Premium Vodka hopes to recreate and celebrate today.

Goat's Milk and Cheese by Milkstar

6:53 PM |
Farm fresh, all natural and healthy, Milk Star Goat’s Milk is ready to drink. It can also be used as an ingredient in cooking as well as other purposes such as body care products.

The Milk Star brand was established in 2007 by Alaminos Goat Farm (AGF) shortly after after father and son Rene and Art Almeda decided on investing 100 commercial Saanen goats which came from Australia in May 2007. They have been importing and breeding boer goats since 2005 and they foresaw the promising field of dairy goat farming.

Soon after, AGF was ready to launch Milk Star in the market. With Toti Almeda, a UP Diliman graduate of Film and Audio Visual Communications joining the AGF and Milk Star Family, AGF was ready to launch Milk Star Fresh Goats Milk. In June 6, 2008, the Milk Star Plant located inside the farm in Alaminos, Laguna was inaugurated. Milk Star Fresh Goats Milk was first sold in neighboring stores in Binan, Laguna and with the help of friends, Milk Star began building its name in the area.

In July 2008, Milk Star officially entered the supermarket trade and was the first and only goat’s milk available in the market. In February 2009, Alaminos Goat Farm was given the BFAD license to operate.

At present, Alaminos Goat Farm produces approximately 200 Liters of Fresh Goats Milk daily. In preparing for the increase of production, Agnes Almeda, fresh graduate from Ateneo de Manila University joined the Milk Star team, completing the family enterprise.

Milk Star Fresh Goats Milk is available in various supermarkets and through certified Milk Star dealers and direct sellers across Metro Manila.

BAYUGAN CITY, AGUSAN DEL SUR – Alicia Paglinawan, the proprietress of Sunrise Corn Coffee, had been roasting corn for her family until she decided to introduce it to her hometown.

Tapuy

7:08 PM |
Tapuy

Tapuy is a Filipino rice wine originated in Batad (a place in the Banaue Rice Terraces), Ifugao, Philippines. This native wine from fermented rice is also produced in the Cordillera Province; particularly in Apayao, Benguet, Kalinga, and Mountain Province. Other names for tapuy in these parts are: tapey or bayah .

The native brew is prepared locally and produced from fermented rice. There are 2 main ingredients: glutinous rice and bubod (starter culture).

The tapuy rice wine is considered as the ceremonial wine served during special occasions (such as weddings) and large celebrations like a bountiful harvest festival. Since the natives can produce tapuy rice wine inside their homes, the local wine is also imbibed by the locals on a daily basis.
